I realize it has been a very long time since I blogged and I apologize ... again. I am really going to try to post something every day. I feel as if this is going to be a good release for me and a better way to get thoughts out and share life with others.
Steve and I have moved into the dream apartment and have spent the past week unpacking and making it feel like our home. It has been a lot of fun shopping for things and collaborating on what we want it to look like. I have been very impressed with Steve's taste and flair for decorating. He really has an eye for great pieces and what goes well together. He picked out all the accent pillows and the elephant above our book case. The elephant looks mighty nice and I broke it ... already ... it was an accident and I really didn't know I even did it. We will try to exchange and get a new one.
Sarah and Aly came to visit for a week and it was an absolute blast. I missed my girls so much and was so glad to share the city with them. We had constant laughter and had so much fun recalling old stories. We galavanted around the city and I took them to all my favorite places - Serendipity, Otto, Canal Street, Woodbury Commons, Cuba, Fat Cat, etc. I will be posting pics soon from their trip. I was so sad to see them go and I want to give them a big shout out for being AMAZING and helping Steve and I move. They really carried a ton of stuff and were so patient and it even all worked out when Sarah locked us out of the new place not 10 minutes after we arrived. HAHA :) LOVE YOU!
I am preparing to teach a "summer bridge" course to our incoming 9th graders at Lehman College. I am going to be teaching a class based on a book, "Fashion as Communication" with a very good friend of mine from school. There has been a ton of planning and coordinating to make this work and I am ready for it to all come into place.
Steve's softball team for PBG made it into the playoffs!!! They start their playoffs on Aug. 18 and I can't wait to go cheer them on!!!
We are hopefully going to be going out of town for my birthday the weekend of Aug. 20 to NH, RI, MA, and CT. I will give more updates on this as we figure it out.
I have reconnected with some friends from college and am really excited about that. It is so good to hear their voices and to laugh and talk like we used to - a lot about nothing terribly important, but more about what is important to our hearts and our lives. I love it.
I will be posting pics of our new place once all the boxes are gone and we have some pictures up on the walls!!! Check back in a few days for those :)
