Today was very busy. I woke up and delivered notices to the apartments surrounding ours, above and below us to give them a little advanced notice on the shin dig we are throwing on Friday night. It was very polite if I do say so myself. I went to the bagel shop near the train station and had a sesame bagel with butter and OJ, it was quite nice. I went to the city today to run some errands and pick up and drop off some stuff. I got to Grand Central and took the 7 over to Times Square and then the 2 down to Penn Station. I went into Macy's in search for these incredible heels, but, to no avail, they were out. I met my friend Kristin at the TFA regional office to get back some 6th grade math materials she lent me and she gave me a CD of an entire years worth of LPs, worksheets and tests from a TFA alum/experienced teacher! AWESOME! Then, I went up to Columbia, took 2 trains, to bring a book to a friend from work. I then took a bus across town to take the 4 down to the MET to pick up a gift. On my way out of the MET I spotted a hot dog stand and got a hot dog only because they had YELLOW mustard instead of that shitty brown mustard at every other hot dog stand in NYC. On the way back to the 4 I came across an ice cream truck and had to stop. I got a chocolate frozen yogurt dipped in sprinkles - it was fabulous! I took the 4 back up to Harlem, went to the post office, then took the train home where I fell asleep and nearly missed my stop.
Something disgusting happened today at Penn Station. I was walking off the 2 and I passed by this man. A second after I walked by him he sneezed - ON ME - his nasty sneeze juice landed on the back of my neck - I was horrified. I turned around and screamed, "COVER YOUR MOUTH - THAT IS DISGUSTING!", and then he cursed me out. I hate mean people and disgusting people.
Steve and I went grocery shopping for the shin dig - OMG - so much food.
For dinner we made kielbasa and potatoes and sauerkraut. It was fun cooking together again and we ate dinner on our balcony for the first time on our sweet balcony plates! We stayed out there for awhile just talking and laughing. It was really nice. I am so glad that we have that balcony. Steve told me about his NFL Fantasy Football draft. I finally understand it a lot more and it is quite interesting. Dudes get really into it and a lot of research goes into who they pick. Fascinating.
I have included pics in this blog ...
